Guten Morgen nach Europa,
hier sind die neuesten Nachrichten aus Japan zum Thema Coronavirus:
Gestern wurden laut japanischem Gesundheitsministerium 568 neue Corona-Fälle gemeldet. Besonders betroffen waren die Präfekturen Tokio (181), Osaka (88), Kanagawa (45), Hokkaido (38), Saitama (35) und Chiba (34). Damit steigt die Gesamtzahl der bestätigten Fälle auf 10.361 (unter Einbezug der Diamond-Princess-Fälle auf 11.033). Sieben Personen sind verstorben, womit bisher 161 Personen ihr Leben gelassen haben. Unter Einbezug der Fälle der Diamond Princess beträgt die Zahl der Verstorbenen insgesamt 173 Menschen. Laut der Yomiuri Shimbun sind bisher 36 Prozent der bestätigten Covid-19-Fälle in Japan bei Menschen im Alter von unter 30 Jahren festgestellt worden. 47 Prozent sind zwischen 40 und 60, und 16 Prozent über 70 Jahre alt. Die Yomiuri Shimbun vermutet, dass die starke Ausbreitung unter jungen Menschen mit daran liegen würde, dass viele Universitätsabsolventen ins Ausland verreist und den Virus nach Japan mitgebracht und in später bei Feiern u.ä. weiter verbreitet hätten. Etwa die Hälfte der Corona-Fälle in Japan konzentriere sich auf die fünf Präfekturen Tokio, Osaka, Hokkaido, Aichi und Fukuoka. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 19. April 2020)

Eine Internetseite, die die Auslastung an ICU-Betten in ganz Japan wiedergibt. https://www.stopcovid19.jp/. Hierbei handelt es sich scheinbar um eine nicht-staatliche Initiative. Wie ersichtlich wird, sind die Krankenhäuser in den Präfekturen Tokio, Kanagawa, Gifu, Kyoto und Fukuoka derzeit deutlich überlastet. Allerdings sind zumindest die neuen ICU-Betten, die laut der Gouverneurin von Tokio seit Anfang der Krise in Tokio neu eingerichtet wurden, nicht mit einberechnet.
Auf dieser von der japanischen Regierung betriebenen Internetseite wird die Zahl der Menschen, dich sich in den wichtigsten Bahnhöfen Tokios und Japans aufhalten oder ein- und aussteigen gezählt. Link (auf Japanisch)

Good morning,
here are the latest Corona news from Japan:
According to the Japanese Ministry of Health, 568 new corona cases were reported yesterday. The prefectures of Tokyo (181), Osaka (88), Kanagawa (45), Hokkaido (38), Saitama (35), and Chiba (34) were particularly affected. This increases the total number of confirmed cases to 10,361 (including the Diamond Princess cases to 11,033). Seven people have died, which means that 161 people have lost their lives to date. Including the cases of the Diamond Princess, the total number of deceased is 173 people. (MHLW: Link)
According to the Yomiuri Shimbun, 36 percent of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Japan have so far been found in people under the age of 30. 47 percent are between 40 and 60 and 16 percent are over 70 years old. The Yomiuri Shimbun suspects that the large spread among young people would be due to the fact that many university graduates traveled abroad, brought the virus to Japan, and later spreat in celebrations and the like. About half of the Corona cases in Japan are concentrated in the five prefectures of Tokyo, Osaka, Hokkaido, Aichi and Fukuoka. (Yomiuri Shimbun, April 19, 2020)

A useful web-page by Tokyo Prefecture that collects information related to Covid-19, including the number of tests performed: https://stopcovid19.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/en/.
A website that shows the utilization of ICU beds across Japan. https://www.stopcovid19.jp/. This is apparently a non-governmental initiative. As can be seen, the hospitals in the prefectures of Tokyo, Kanagawa, Gifu, Kyoto and Fukuoka are currently significantly overloaded. However, at least the new ICU beds, which according to the governor of Tokyo have been set up in Tokyo since the beginning of the crisis, are not included.
This website, operated by the Japanese government, counts the number of people staying, boarding or disembarking in main train stations of Tokyo and Japan. As you can see, a decline of 60 to 80 percent is observed in almost all train stations. Link (in Japanese)
I would still like to draw your attention to the Corona bot. If you are a foreigner in Japan and show corona symptoms or are just looking for information, this chatbot could be helpful for you. It asks you about symptoms of illness and then recommends a hotline you can contact for advice or diagnosis. I just found the idea super-helpful and like to spread it, because in the end it might actually save lives or at least nerves.
