Guten Morgen nach Europa,
hier sind die neuesten Nachrichten aus Japan zum Thema Coronavirus:
Gestern wurden 556 neue Covid-19-Fälle in Japan bestätigt. Besonders betroffen waren die Präfekturen Tokio (201), Osaka (55), Chiba (35), Saitama (34), Hokkaido (34) und Kanagawa (34). Die Gesamtzahl der Fälle stieg damit auf 9.795 (einschließlich der Diamond-Princess-Fälle auf 10.467). Sechs Personen sind verstorben, wodurch die Gesamtzahl der Verstorbenen auf 154 gestiegen ist (einschließlich der Diamond-Princess-Fälle auf 166). (MHLW: Link)
Die japanische Regierung beabsichtigt, dass Anmeldungen für die 100.000 Yen Unterstützung, die alle Japaner erhalten sollen, über Internet und Post möglich sein sollen. Außerdem sollen sich das Behandlungshonorar für Covid-19 verdoppeln. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 18. April 2020)
Nippon Professional Baseball hat mitgeteilt, dass sie den Beginn der Saison 2020 erneut auf Juni verschieben wird. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 18. April 2020)

Eine nützliche Seite der Präfektur Tokio, in der Informationen rund um Covid-19 gesammelt werden, u.a. die Zahl der durchgeführten Tests: https://stopcovid19.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/en/.
Eine Internetseite, die die Auslastung an ICU-Betten in ganz Japan wiedergibt. https://www.stopcovid19.jp/. Hierbei handelt es sich scheinbar um eine nicht-staatliche Initiative. Wie ersichtlich wird, sind die Krankenhäuser in den Präfekturen Tokio, Kanagawa, Gifu, Kyoto und Fukuoka derzeit deutlich überlastet. Allerdings sind zumindest die neuen ICU-Betten, die laut der Gouverneurin von Tokio seit Anfang der Krise in Tokio neu eingerichtet wurden, nicht mit einberechnet.
Auf dieser von der japanischen Regierung betriebenen Internetseite wird die Zahl der Menschen, dich sich in den wichtigsten Bahnhöfen Tokios und Japans aufhalten oder ein- und aussteigen gezählt. Link (auf Japanisch)

Good morning,
here are the latest Corona news from Japan:
Yesterday, 556 new Covid 19 cases were confirmed in Japan. The prefectures of Tokyo (201), Osaka (55), Chiba (35), Saitama (34), Hokkaido (34) and Kanagawa (34) were particularly affected. The total number of cases rose to 9,795 (including the Diamond Princess cases to 10,467). Six people have died, bringing the total number of deaths to 154 (including the Diamond Princess cases to 166). (MHLW: Link)
The Japanese government intends that applications for the 100,000 yen support that all Japanese will receive should be available online and by post. The treatment fee for Covid-19 is also expected to double. (Yomiuri Shimbun, April 18, 2020)

A useful web-page by Tokyo Prefecture that collects information related to Covid-19, including the number of tests performed: https://stopcovid19.metro.tokyo.lg.jp/en/.
A website that shows the utilization of ICU beds across Japan. https://www.stopcovid19.jp/. This is apparently a non-governmental initiative. As can be seen, the hospitals in the prefectures of Tokyo, Kanagawa, Gifu, Kyoto and Fukuoka are currently significantly overloaded. However, at least the new ICU beds, which according to the governor of Tokyo have been set up in Tokyo since the beginning of the crisis, are not included.
This website, operated by the Japanese government, counts the number of people staying, boarding or disembarking in main train stations of Tokyo and Japan. As you can see, a decline of 60 to 80 percent is observed in almost all train stations. Link (in Japanese)
I would still like to draw your attention to the Corona bot. If you are a foreigner in Japan and show corona symptoms or are just looking for information, this chatbot could be helpful for you. It asks you about symptoms of illness and then recommends a hotline you can contact for advice or diagnosis. It is available free of charge in Japanese, English, German and Mandarin via Amazon Alexa and Line. More information here under this link. This is no paid advertising. I just found the idea super-helpful and like to spread it, because in the end it might actually save lives or at least nerves.
