Guten Morgen nach Europa,
hier sind die neuesten Nachrichten aus Japan zum Thema Coronavirus:
Gestern wurden 122 Neuinfektionen gemeldet. Besonders betroffen waren die Präfekturen Tokio (58), Kanagawa (14) und Hokkaido (12). Die Gesamtfallzahl stieg auf 15.354. 22 Personen sind verstorben, womit die Gesamtzahl der Verstorbenen auf 543 Personen gestiegen ist. Addiert man die Fälle der Diamond Princess so sind dies insgesamt 16.026 Krankheitsfälle und 556 Tode. (MHLW: Link)
Die Präfektur Tokio hat ihre Aufforderung zu Geschäftsschließungen offiziell bis zum 31. Mai verlängert und in Aussicht gestellt, weitere Subventionen in Höhe von bis zu einer Million Yen für schließende Unternehmen zur Verfügung zu stellen. Gouverneurin Koike sagte in einer Pressekonferenz außerdem, dass sie zusammen mit Experten eilig über eine Exit-Strategie diskutieren wird. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 6. Mai 2020)
Die Präfektur Osaka hat ebenfalls ihre Aufforderung zu Geschäftsschließungen verlängert, allerdings hat Gouverneur Yoshimura drei Bedingungen vorgestellt, unter deren Erfüllung die Präfektur den Notstand lockern würde. Diese Bedingungen sind: (1) Weniger als 10 Neu-Infektionen pro Tag mit unbekanntem Infektionsweg; (2) weniger als 7 Prozent positiv getesteter Personen unter allen durchgeführten Tests; und (3) weniger als 60 Prozent Belegung von ICU-Betten. Sollten diese Bedingungen für sieben aufeinanderfolgende Tage erfüllt werden, so würde die Präfektur den Notstand zum 15. Mai schrittweise lockern. Nach Stand vom 4. Mai waren bereits alle dieser Bedingungen erfüllt. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 6. Mai 2020)
Die Präfekturen Kanagawa und Fukuoka haben ihre Aufforderung zu Geschäftsschließungen ebenfalls bis zum 31. Mai verlängert. Die Präfekturen Ibaraki und Hokkaido haben dies nur bis zum 17., bzw. 15. Mai, getan. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 6. Mai 2020)
Siebzehn Präfekturen haben angekündigt ab morgen wieder Geschäfte zu öffnen. Dies betrifft die Präfekturen Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Niigata, Yamanashi, Nagano, Shizuoka, Wakayama, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Kōchi, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto und Kagoshima.
Die Präfekturen Tochigi, Fukui, Shiga und Miyazaki haben die Aufforderung zu Geschäftsschließungen bis zum 10. Mai verlängert, Okinawa bis zum 20. Mai und Gunma, Toyama, Mie, Nara, Hiroshima und Oita bis zum 31. Mai.
Die Präfekturen Fukushima, Yamagata, Tottori und Aichi haben noch keine detaillierten Pläne veröffentlicht, während die Präfektur Tokushima nie eine Aufforderung zu Geschäftsschließungen veröffentlicht hatte. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 6. Mai 2020)
Der Verkehr auf japanischen Autobahnen ist in der „Golden Week“ im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um sechzig bis achtzig Prozent gesunken. (Yomiuri Shimbun, 6. Mai 2020)

Eine Internetseite, die die Auslastung an ICU-Betten in ganz Japan wiedergibt. https://www.stopcovid19.jp/. Hierbei handelt es sich scheinbar um eine nicht-staatliche Initiative. Wie ersichtlich wird, sind die Krankenhäuser in den Präfekturen Tokio, Kanagawa, Gifu, Kyoto und Fukuoka derzeit deutlich überlastet. Allerdings sind zumindest die neuen ICU-Betten, die laut der Gouverneurin von Tokio seit Anfang der Krise in Tokio neu eingerichtet wurden, nicht mit einberechnet.
Auf dieser von der japanischen Regierung betriebenen Internetseite wird die Zahl der Menschen, dich sich in den wichtigsten Bahnhöfen Tokios und Japans aufhalten oder ein- und aussteigen gezählt. Link (auf Japanisch)

Here are the latest news from Japan on corona virus:
122 new infections were reported yesterday. The prefectures of Tokyo (58), Kanagawa (14) and Hokkaido (12) were particularly affected. The total number of cases rose to 15,354. 22 people have died, bringing the total number of people who have died to 543. If you add up the cases of the Diamond Princess, there are a total of 16,026 cases of illness and 556 deaths. (MHLW: Link)
Tokyo Prefecture has officially extended its demand for business closures until May 31, and has announced plans to provide additional subsidies of up to one million yen to closing companies. Governor Koike also said at a press conference that she will hurry to discuss an exit strategy with experts. (Yomiuri Shimbun, May 6, 2020)
Osaka Prefecture has also extended its request to close shops, but Governor Yoshimura has presented three conditions under which the Prefecture would ease the emergency. These conditions are: (1) Fewer than 10 new infections per day with an unknown route of infection; (2) less than 7 percent of people tested positive among all tests performed; and (3) less than 60 percent occupancy of ICU beds. If these conditions were met for seven consecutive days, the prefecture would gradually ease the state of emergency by May 15th. As of May 4, all of these conditions had already been met. Kanagawa and Fukuoka Prefectures have also extended their request to close business until May 31. Ibaraki and Hokkaido prefectures only did this until May 17th and 15th, respectively. (Yomiuri Shimbun, May 6, 2020)
Seventeen prefectures have announced that they will open shops again tomorrow. These are the prefectures Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Niigata, Yamanashi, Nagano, Shizuoka, Wakayama, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Kōchi, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto and Kagoshima.
The prefectures Tochigi, Fukui, Shiga and Miyazaki have extended the request to close business until May 10th, Okinawa until May 20th, and Gunma, Toyama, Mie, Nara, Hiroshima and Oita until May 31st.

A website that shows the utilization of ICU beds across Japan. https://www.stopcovid19.jp/. This is apparently a non-governmental initiative. As can be seen, the hospitals in the prefectures of Tokyo, Kanagawa, Gifu, Kyoto and Fukuoka are currently significantly overloaded. However, at least the new ICU beds, which according to the governor of Tokyo have been set up in Tokyo since the beginning of the crisis, are not included.
This website, operated by the Japanese government, counts the number of people staying, boarding or disembarking in main train stations of Tokyo and Japan. As you can see, a decline of 60 to 80 percent is observed in almost all train stations. Link (in Japanese)
I would still like to draw your attention to the Corona bot. If you are a foreigner in Japan and show corona symptoms or are just looking for information, this chatbot could be helpful for you. It asks you about symptoms of illness and then recommends a hotline you can contact for advice or diagnosis. It is available free of charge in Japanese, English, German and Mandarin via Amazon Alexa and Line. More information here under this link. This is no paid advertising. I just found the idea super-helpful and like to spread it, because in the end it might actually save lives or at least nerves.
